As a distinguished trial attorney with over twenty years of experience, Eugene Egdorf brings a wealth of experience and an impeccable record of client advocacy to the ETL team. As the head of commercial litigation for The Lanier Law Firm, Mr. Egdorf has enjoyed a sparkling track record in the practice areas of sports litigation, antitrust litigation and pharmaceutical litigation. Mr. Egdorf has negotiated settlements for clients in excess of $150 million, $60 million and $40 million, respectively. In the ground breaking case, Dale Lloyd vs. Rice University, Mr. Egdorf reached a substantial monetary settlement for the family of a Rice University football player who died as a result of a hidden sickle-cell trait – a trait which would’ve been easily discovered through standard testing. As a result of this seminal case, the NCAA now requires mandatory testing of all student-athletes for the sickle cell trait.
In his role as Vice President/General Counsel, Mr. Egdorf will take an active role in all recruiting and marketing aspects of the organization. Mr. Egdorf will also oversee and coordinate consultations and advocacy for our clients in a wide variety of legal matters.
“In my 20 years of practicing law I have adhered to the highest principles of zealous advocacy for my clients. These principles require selectivity with clients and associates, as well as uncompromising trust. After being involved in several sports law matters - including preventable athlete deaths – I came to realize that representation of athletes was what I needed to do, and to do it right, I needed to be with ETL.
By joining ETL, I am now part of a team that provides a totality of services that is unmatched by any other agency - complete dedication to the client, unparalleled work ethic, top resources, nationally recognized legal talent, and most importantly, trust and confidence.”
